Blyton ended a long losing run at Bellewstown and is still on a lowly mark compared to his early days in the UK. Darkened won over hurdles in August and returned to the Flat with a narrow defeat behind Accessory over this trip on soft ground at Cork. There's little between the pair at the revised weights with the former possibly just having the edge but Take My Hand has struggled at the weights since scoring at Naas in July. Fennor Cross was having only his sixth start when getting up close home over this trip at Gowran and a 4lb rise doesn't look excessive. Runner-up Dunum has since performed well at Bellewestown but had earlier been beaten behind HIDDEN SPARK at Naas. The latter has been running well without reward and finished strongly behind Fennor Cross at Gowran so is taken to get back on the winning trail.
