Verdict

Dual bumper winner Getaway John gained his first success over timber when stepped up to 2m7f in a Fairyhouse maiden last month. There's more to come though he has a penalty to carry and isn't certain to beat stable companion Moratorium, who followed a couple of fair runs by beating a huge field over this trip at Navan. KARL DER GROSSE made a successful hurdling debut at Tramore in August but couldn't handle stable companion Dorrells Pierji at Galway in October when Petit Tartare finished just in front of him. The latter didn't enhance the form in a Leopadstown handicap next time and Willie Mullins' charge looks the more likely to make progress so gets the nod.
