Thornaby Green can post a debut success over seven furlongs although Bollin Edward and Flashing Blade represent strong opposition. David Barron's representative stayed on well over six furlongs at Hamilton and the fact that he gets on well with his young apprentice is a clear positive here. Bollin Edward has always threatened to win races although he invariably engineers a rival or two to finish behind. Top-weight Flashing Blade was once though of as a 1,000 Guineas possible. This is a severe drop in class vis-a-vis those aspirations. Jubilee Street and Flying Edge are both back to their best trips today so the market is inspected. Headland has been in good heart on the all-weather. A race of many imponderables but Thornaby Green looks likely to appreciate the step up in trip and we will side with him on this occasion.
