COMPTON PARK is the call ahead of Sailorman and Touch Tone. William Knight has had a pretty good start to the turf season and it is to be hoped that he can add to his tally with the Compton Place gelding. It is interesting that the trainer has elected to stay in maidens when he could have gone for handicaps. Sailorman is a fascinating runner. This son of Dubawi was easy to back on debut at Kempton and was guilty only of running out of steam following after being tried under forcing tactics. Touch Tone is in receipt of the fillies allowance. She seems capable of handling fast ground despite being a daughter of Selkirk. Ingleby King has a tough job at the weight for age scale but left the impression at Doncaster that he would improve for the step up in trip. Antarctic Desert has had quite a few chances and will be the benchmark for the assessor to do his work from. A decent enough maiden and Compton Park is the selection.
