Hewaraat, Stellite and True Night are the three for the shortlist in a wide open affair, and a chance is taken that Hewaraat is fit enough to win on his seasonal re-appearance. David Nicholls' True Knight is still going strong at the age of nine and he put a disappointing all-weather campaign behind him when winning a Catterick handicap decisively. The handicapper has added a pound to the penalty he carries today, and he must be respected having picked up the winning thread. Stellite has not run since November, but he won at Ayr towards the end of last season on his last run on Turf, scoring impressively by five lengths, and a reproduction of that effort would put him in the shake-up. Hewaraat looks the one to be on. Unraced as a two year old, he won at Epsom and turned in a string of good performances in good class last summer. This is his seasonal debut, but he appears to hold the most solid credentials in the race and Hewaraat can win after a lay off.
