    Verdict

There was cut in the ground when EDWARD LEWIS won for the second time in three starts since joining David O’Meara. He scored at Lingfield last week and may not have stopped improving yet. Today’s opposition have yet to hit top form and Orient Class makes a quick reappearance having failed to threaten Duke Of Firenze at York on Thursday. Pipers Note didn’t show a great deal at Ripon last time while Ladweb remains 8lb higher than when scoring at Sandown last summer. A winner in Ireland last year, Independence Day has struggled in both starts for Robert Cowell so far while Jack Dexter has won just the once since 2013.
