BRAZEN IDOL won well in June when seeing off a big field and there’s an argument that Simon Pearce’s gelding could easily have gone up by more than the 5lb rise accrued. Lincoln Pride won at Newcastle earlier in the week and David O’Meara’s filly is a big player despite the penalty while Spear Fir takes a first try at handicapping and showed enough in her earlier races to suggest she is capable of picking up a small race. John Butler had a winner earlier in the week so Breach is worth more than just a cursory glance in the market while Hurt You Never has won two races this season under today’s apprentice rider.
