Sheepscar Lad was running on strongly over the minimum at Beverley last time but looks exposed compared to some of these, while Cupid’s Arrow has been consistent without threatening to get off the mark. Arnold ran well to win to win a modest-looking contest at Ripon despite racing keenly early on and is capable of going in again, but EDGED IN BLUE (NAP) is preferred. She showed admirable battling qualities to pick up her first win at Yarmouth and with improvement to come can follow up here. It will be interesting to see how former Ballydoyle inmate Edgar Allan Poe fares for his new yard, while Gaval has shown plenty of pace and is one for the shortlist on his handicap debut.
