Verdict
Paul Midgley fields a trio of runners with the consistent Pavers Pride possibly the pick after Son And Sannie turned in a below-par performance at Windsor last month when well supported. Abate was successful over course and distance in June and again at York last month, though has disappointed twice since off higher marks. Machree also won here in July but was unable to cope with a 4lb rise subsequently at Doncaster. Gowanbuster may also be in the handicapper’s grip now but EEH BAH GUM has slipped to a very attractive mark and a big run is anticipated from Jamie Gormley’s mount back on Turf. Stablemate Autumn Flight also has a squeak.
