A race full of disappointing horses, but one of them has to win and it might well prove to be the topweight Jawalla (who will be helped by any easing of the ground) who leads them home. Pip Payne had his first winner for nine months earlier in the week and his horses look on the way back so an improvement in form could be around the corner for Jawalla who had looked a fair prospect when bolting up on her debut on soft ground last October. Now coming down the ratings and facing easier opposition than of late, Jawalla looks to have solid credentials in the context of the race. Aunt Hilda has a similar profile to the topweight but has shown little in her recent outings and is hard to recommend, whilst Veronica Ward, from the in-form Tim Easterby yard has to be respected with a good apprentice on board.
