Verdict

John Gosden's Aflaam showed enough on his debut to make him the one to beat today; Thought Is Free and Seventh Cavalry should give him the most to think about. This colt was a close third behind Summerstrand at Newmarket on his debut in what looked a decent maiden. That form reads well in the context of this race and he can get off the mark today. Seventh Cavalry looks the chief danger but he has had a few chances and he was no match for Last three Minutes at Yarmouth last time. Thought Is Free did not have much luck at Windsor last time but ultimately she will need to step-up on what she has shown so far if she is to win this. Timocracy is making his seasonal reappearance so he is one to note in the market, but Aflaam should take all the beating and is forwarded as the confident pick.
