      Verdict

COPPER AND FIVE has had little racing and looked a likely future winner when narrowly beaten at Nottingham, where he pulled hard before staying on. He had earlier finished fifth at Pontefract when Rocket Dancer was narrowly beaten into second but looks to have a bit more scope than Mick Easterby's charge and can lose his maiden tag. Florenza is a course and distance winner but on a long losing run while Shackabooah's best form is over shorter. The lightly-raced Semper Augustus should be found a race from this sort of mark before long and was narrowly beaten in all three starts on Polytrack at the turn of the year.
