Verdict

Bathsheba Bay clearly needed the run when pulled up at Ascot and recent course and distance winner Amelia's Dance goes on the shortlist, despite an 8lb rise. Just beaten off this mark at Kempton in November, MAN OF LIGHT ran well again at Ludlow two weeks later. He seems suited by sharp, right-handed tracks like this and is unlikely to be far away again. Midnight Ginger has been going well under 7lb claimer James Martin and a case can also be made for the four-year-olds Tease And Seize and Rhebus Road while Cornicello should be capable of better.
