Verdict

The best race on the card is complicated by the fact that Dan Skelton runs three. Bertimont, second over course and distance recently though now 5lb higher, looks the stable pick on form and also jockey bookings as Work In Progress showed little reverting to hurdles at Huntingdon and Workbench was chasing when last seen in the autumn. Top Tug goes handicapping having found life tough under a penalty in novice races since making a winning debut at Kempton. Mr Kit Cat will have plenty to prove after a break but Bobble Emerald could sneak into the frame at decent odds on ground that will suit. TOMMY SILVER failed to fire in the Gerry Fielden at Newbury in November but that wasn’t his true form. He looked a novice to follow around this time last year and may still be capable of fulfilling his potential - Stan Sheppard is good value for his 5lb claim.
