Another event likely to be dominated by newcomers, and one in which Karello Bay is selected to get the better of Nefertari, Delena and Ebony Queen. All four of those mentioned will be expected to pay their way in time, but the well-related Karello Bay has been impressing on the Lambourn gallops and is taken to give Nicky Henderson another winner. By Kahyasi, her dam is an unraced sister to the useful Marello. Paul Webber had a decent bumper winner last week with Pressgang, and although Nefertari might not be in the same league, she is sure to have been put through her paces. Delena is sure to have her supporters, if only for the fact that she is trained by Paul Nicholls. Her dam is a half-sister to Amzun and Sh Boom, so she should progress into a nice hurdler in time. Like Delena, Ebony Queen is a daughter of Classic Cliche and hails from a top yard. She will be brought along steadily with a future over fences in mind, and should be noted whatever her fate today. The rest make little appeal, and we shall rely on Karello Bay to repeat her homework on the track.
