Verdict

ROCKWITHACAVEMAN can provide Miss Polly Gundry with another winner, possibly at the chief expense of The Venetian and Enitsag. Our pick ran well in a point-to-point last time, in the process advertising his wellbeing ahead of this return to Hunter Chasing. When last seen under rules in May the son of Old Vic ran poorly, having previously taken second to Le Duc. That placed form reads very well in this context and with a capable rider in the plate he looks the one they all have to beat. The Venetian was a decent sort when with Victor Dartnall before things went array, although more encouragement can be drawn from his two decent efforts between the flags of late. This is undeniably tougher and he's not won for some time, but a big run looks entirely possible despite his unreliable profile. Enitsag has been off since May and wasn't great when last seen to say the least, but he's at least shown the ability to win one of these and as such is considered despite having to carry a penalty. He's just preferred to recent point winner Novi Sad who may struggle here now aged 12. Yes My Lord returned from a near two-year absence at the start of the month and showed nothing so can only be watched, which points us back in the direction of Rockwithacaveman whose profile is more solid than most.
