Verdict

Not a jot of form and the best advice, as is often the case in such contests, is to watch the market. TRESPASSER, a gelding by Cape Cross, is a hopeful choice to maintain the great strike rate of John Ferguson in his first season as a trainer, especially with Jack Quinlan taking 5lb off his back. The Denmark/Greatrex owner and trainer combination has a good record in these contests so check out Diamond Life in the market, whilst Princely Player cost 70,000 euros at the sales in 2007. By King's Theatre, he also represents a yard that does well in bumpers. However, Nicky Henderson is the doyen of such contests and Brigadier Miller will be be very hard to beat if the market speaks in his favour.
