An open handicap in which SIR IVAN (NAP) deserves another chance as he was in the process of running a much-improved race on his second start over fences when coming to grief two out at Newbury last time. The reaction of the handicapper to put him up 2lb for a non-completion seems harsh to say the least and he's always seemed to be a horse with whom the assessor never relents. However, he can still add to his sole career success gained two years ago. Warriors Tale looked to under-perform last time but a repeat of his previous Newbury second to O Maonlai would bring him bang into calculations and he looks to have trip and ground to suit. Sykes and Abracadabra Sivola look next best though Hedley Lamarr has a squeak off the bottom rung too.
