Verdict

A tricky finale in which BLUELAND, Avoine and Evening Class are three that interest us more than others and we'll also be keeping a close eye on Paradise Expected. We've opted for Jim Best's runner who will be partnered by Rhys Flint who has a one in three strike rate for the yard this term. His mare missed 2008 but proved that she retains some ability when staying on from off the pace at Fakenham on her second start back behind a stablemate. The suitability of the ground is an issue but she should improve again for her last run and we'll let the market guide us. Evening Class is well worth noting in the market with Noel Fehily taking over from Sean Quinlan for her handicap bow. She's been well held on all starts at around two miles but starts handicapping at a realistic level and is bred to get a trip. Similar remarks apply to Glenda Hoddle who showed some promise in bumpers before going hurdling. Avoine still has to conclusively prove herself on this ground but she appears to handle it and is well worth considering for a race of this nature. Paradise Expected has made the frame four times in sixteen starts for a variety of trainers but it wouldn't come as a shock to see her attract support and go well on debut for Tim Vaughan. Tacinja could go well if fit enough and is one of a few to note in the market but Blueland looks sure to figure prominently.
