In depth

Verdict

There seems no reason why Newbury second Water Garden won't go close again, despite a slight rise in the weights. Monetary Fund is closely matched with David Pipe's grey, however, and also preferred to Pipe's other runner, Weekend Millionair, who has yet to prove conclusively that he stays this far. Who Owns Me looks as though he's had a enough for now but Promised Wings bolted up on heavy ground in lesser company at Newbury last time and could go well again despite the 7lb higher mark. AAIM TO PROSPER landed a gamble of good ground at Doncaster last month before trying his luck in a Grade 1 novices' event at Cheltenham. He never figured that day but will be a lot happier here and can get back to winning ways. Billy Merriott ran a shocker at Sandown last time when on a hat-trick but can be forgiven that effort on account of the going and looks the pick of the remainder.
