    Verdict

Mcgroarty sets the form standard but has shown two ways of running this term and consequently is hard to predict. Beaten 60 lengths on his penultimate start, he came back to post his best effort of the season when beating a small but talented field at Uttoxeter at Class 2 level. He is tempting but if we forgive DANDRIDGE for a modest effort last time here, the Longsdon inmate has a definite shout off a mark of 123 as he was rated 137 in April 2018. He's come up against the likes of Dolos and Double W's in placed runs in the current campaign, form that reads well. Capital Force has a claim but is also entered on Sunday so Mercian King is preferred for the shortlist.
