SEA SAFFRON can go in again here ahead of Sir Ian and High Jack. Jimmy Frost's gelding did well to score over shorter last time, getting the better of an improving sort who has since franked the form. A 9lb rise therefore seems fair, so providing he proves adaptable on the fastest ground he's so far encountered further success awaits. Sir Ian is the likely danger following a consistent run of results. This gelding's sole win came at today's trip on genuine good ground, so with a mark of 98 appealing as fair he certainly arrives with place claims at the very least. The same can be said of High Jack if he brings his true form to the table, but Andy Turnell's charge hasn't done so this season and accordingly arrives with an element of risk attached. He was placed off a higher mark a season ago though, so with conditions appearing ideal excuses will be running out should he not get involved. Magnetic Pole also makes some appeal despite racing off a 12lb higher mark than when last successful. He likes to hear his hooves rattle so the forecast good ground could enable a change in fortunes and he's proved a pretty reliable jumper. Prophete De Guy ran at Huntingdon on Sunday and surely won't take up this engagement, Mylord Collonges steps down in trip but needs to step up his efforts, whilst Quick Fix is competitively treated but was pulled-up last time and has questions to answer. Sea Saffron brings solid winning form to this affair and can run away from some moderate rivals to take the glory.
