In depth

Verdict

Le Corvee landed a handicap over the C&D last summer on fast ground and would be a good bet if able to repeat but he ran poorly in a claimer at Bangor last week. Sole Bonne Femme won a couple of times over timber when trained in Ireland and gained his first success for Gerard Butler in a similar race to this at Fakenham a couple of weeks ago. He should go well as should Leopard Hills, who has more scope than most of these and landed an Exeter seller in good style 10 days ago. Turbo Shandy reverts to hurdles after getting rid of his rider on his two latest starts over fences but he's still a maiden over timber after 18 starts. OLYMPIAN BOY drops into this class for the first time and though running poorly over fences last time his two previous efforts in handicaps point to his obvious chance here.
