    Verdict

Midaz returned to action with a second over track and trip and will no doubt make a bold bid with plenty of scope for improvement. But a chance is taken on top weight OUR IVOR returning to form after a couple of lacklustre efforts. He's dropped in class for this and has gone close here off higher marks before. Caledonia Prince is similar in that he, too, has the past form to figure but Mishrif is 8lb higher than his latest win at the track in December. Royal Holiday also has a shout on his second over track and trip in January and is preferred to dual 7f course winner Basingstoke, though was scheduled to run at Newcastle last night.
