Crosse Fire won this in 2015 but could only manage fourth last year and stablemate SAMOVAR (NAP) is preferred. The latter was beaten less than a length in a higher grade sprint over track and trip last week and Scott Dixon’s charge can race off the same mark today. Landing Night went close here in November and is 2lb lower while La Fortuna notched-up a hat-trick elsewhere on the all-weather in September and has scored over course and distance in the past. Casterbridge won at Newcastle last month but this is tougher and Classic Pursuit makes more appeal off his current mark back on this surface.
