A chance is taken with Layed Back Rocky, who makes a touch more appeal over this trip than Larky's Lob, Yorkie and Cool Sands. The last named has bits and pieces of form that give him solid claims in this company and he is likely to be a popular choice with his yard in good form at present. However, Cool Sands has never really convinced over seven furlongs and has a little to prove stamina-wise. Yorkie, on the other hand, gets the trip well but is as frustrating as they come and can never be relied upon too heavily. Larky's Lob goes particularly well here and, as a three-time course and distance winner, he has to be respected. Nevertheless, his record in handicaps makes for uninspiring reading and it will take a rejuvenated effort from him to make every yard of the running at this level. Therefore, it can pay to give Layed Back Rocky another chance after his near miss here eight days ago. The son of Lake Coniston has dropped to a very handy mark and looks worth keeping on the right side whilst he is good heart
