In depth

Verdict

Toutatis had been racing in bumpers before making his debut for David O'Meara at Beverley last week where he found 1m2f on fast ground much too short. Root Sixty Six has shown very little in three starts, two of them here, while Chipping Away weakened after halfway when tackling a mile at Newmarket a fortnight ago. Moneykenny showed a bit more dash at Windsor though the stable also run the newcomer WINTERWATCH, who won't need to be special to make a successful debut. A half-brother to an all-weather winner and out of a 1m4f winner in France, he looks a better option than the other first-timer Bonnie Beth, who only cost £800 as a yearling.
