In depth

Verdict

Owner Paul Dixon is represented here by Ting but a string of duck eggs hardly inspires confidence. Interstice has been placed a few times and may occupy a slot again as might White Plains, a course and distance winner who may go off as favourite on the strength of some fair efforts of late. However, Carnage is the dark horse, coming here fresh after a long break. A winner on his first visit to Southwell and his first taste of the sand, he seemed not to stay next time when put up to two miles and will appreciate this trip. If he is anywhere near fit, Carnage could take the beating.
