    Verdict

The application of cheekpieces certainly galvanised Tom Mix here in February. He'd shown nothing in four previous starts but made all for a comfortable victory and, if the headgear works again, he will make a bold bid to defy a 6lb rise. However, HARSWELL PRINCESS (NAP) looks the safer option as she was beaten just over two lengths and has a 7lb pull despite running well on Tapeta subsequently. Desert Mist is having her first start here but showed a bit more dash in a slightly better race at Newcastle last time. The former Godolphin inmate Secret To Success made a reasonable debut for Phil McEntee at Kempton and, with normal progress, can reach the frame.
