An open-looking maiden can go the way of newcomer Coleorton Dagger, with Ronnie Howe, Le Masque and My Drop looking the best of those with racecourse experience. The selection represents a stable in-form and as a half-sister to the smart Coleorton Dancer, she must be feared on her racecourse debut if the betting speaks in her favour. An inside draw should also make life easier, and with the in-from Neil Callan on-board she must have leading claims. Of obvious interest is Bryan Smart's Le Masque who has the best form to date. However, he has surely had enough chances now after eight attempts so is passed over once again, whilst Ronnie Howe is win-less in seven so is equally hard to fancy. In his favour is that he has the speed for this minimum trip and after a break of 114 days he makes his all-weather debut. If handling the surface he should go close. My Drop has just had the one run so far and so is entitled to improve on his average debut, however the drop in trip doesn't appear to be ideal. Therefore we will return to Kevin Ryan's newcomer Coleorton Dagger to prove sharp enough and land the spoils.
