      In depth

      Verdict

Honour A Promise made an encouraging debut at Newbury in March but ran poorly at Ayr the following month. It's hard to know what to make of VALSEUR DU GRANVAL, twice runner-up in 1m4f bumpers in France, but he'll know his job and could be good enough to make a winning start. Masquerade, a short-priced favourite on his debut on Fibresand here in March but eventually disappointing, is expected to do much better on a more suitable surface. Di's Gift should do better over this trip after an initial run over 1m6f on fast ground at Towcester while Frankie Four Feet made some progress at Market Rasen last time. Cogry has joined Nigel Twiston-Davies from Ireland where he ran well on his latest start in April.
