Three of the runners here have won over distance in the past but the with very little in the way of good form to choose from we side with VAN NESS who looks to have the edge over Proud Andees and Lawyer Des Ormeaux. Our selection was up with the pace all the way last time out finishing second in a race where his jumping was a little untidy. The gelding returned to win a decent point-to-point at Thorpe Lodge in January following a lengthy absence and is ever improving so looks best here. Proud Andees fell last time out on his return from a long spell on the sidelines. He did win his last race before that break, that was back in May and it looked unlikely that it would be his last win he¿ll do well in poor company here and will appreciate the run. Veteran Lawyer Des Ormeaux is another who returns after a 10 month break and will be making the most of this run. None of the rest appeal and in what should be a three horse race we side with Van Ness for victory.
