Beamsley Beacon goes well here and edges a slender vote of confidence over Mystery Pips and Blue Power. The last named also acts well on fibresand and is capable of making a race of it if he puts his mind to it. However, he is on a long losing run and is not one to trust implicitly. Mystery Pips holds Danakim and Eternally judging by last week's encounter and will be a popular choice in his follow up bid. Even so, this is no easy task for him on these terms and he would make limited appeal at cramped odds. The enigmatic Percy Douglas is also worth a mention in a race like this and it would come as no surprise to see him make the frame. However, Beamsley Beacon has as good a chance as any in the opener and is the pick.
