      Verdict

      A small field goes to post for this maiden and we will nominate Thebes to get the better of Orpenella and Flying Sommelier. The selection cost more than a quarter of a million pounds as a yearling, and he made a pleasing impression on his debut when he chased home Bahamian Lad. He ran green that day so there should be plenty more to come and he will be hard to beat. Orpenella is a well-bred filly so she is certainly worth a look in the market on her racecourse bow. Flying Sommelier lost a lot of ground at the start on his debut and he was running-on well at the finish. He is sure to learn plenty from that experience and he is worth considering. Article ran really green on his debut here, so he should also have improve plenty for the run. However, Thebes could be quite useful and he should prove tough to beat.
