      Verdict

      ITALIAN TOM is selected here ahead of Lucky Mellor and R Woody. The selection has a 6lb penalty for a recent course and distance success but still looks competitive. He looks to have a fair enough draw in stall three and another bold bid looks assured. Lucky Mellor is one of the most consistent in the race and he is proven at the track; the problem is that he is edging up the handicap. Six Wives is another filly who is proven here, and she wasn't far behind Lucky Mellor last time, whilst R Woody was a 100/1 winner last time out and his handicap mark has been reassessed as a result and off 73 he might struggle. Kyladdie drops in trip, and of more interest may be Athwaab who travelled well for a long way over six furlongs earlier in the week. Angie's Nap is a player now back over the minimum trip, however it is Italian Tom who is preferred.
