Verdict

KARMEST is our confident call with Orkney and Prairie Hawk respected as the alternatives. Course form counts for plenty at Southwell and with a convincing success over course-and-distance very much in the memory, we take the four-year-old to follow up. Orkney accounted for Parnassian at the course eight days ago. He looks to have a fair degree of scope and he may make his mark when sent jumping. Prairie Hawk landed a significant gamble at Wolverhampton last week. If he acts on this surface, he is off a low enough mark to cause plenty of worries for the others. Swords is arguably better over further but opportunities are in short supply. Mr Aitch is better known under National Hunt rules but did win on the flat off a higher mark two years ago. Karmest comes into the race in good form and he can produce a fair follow-up here.
