OCHOS RIOS was left at the start over track and trip last time but worked his way back into the race to beat Star Ascending a neck. Neil Mulholland’s charge is taken to confirm running given the latter was partnered by an apprentice on that occasion and re-opposes on worse terms. Star Ascending has since finished runner-up here once again though he did finish in front of a disappointing Go On Gal, Master Of Song and Ambuscade. Leonard Thomas debuts on the Fibresand but has a poor strike rate and St James's Park is less exposed as he too races on this surface for the first time.
