Charming Grace looks to have little chance against the three previous winners in this. Warrantor was in the process of running a big race in the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham until a bad blunder four out caused his saddle to slip. But that will have taken plenty out of him and Spirit Of Shankly represents last year's winning stable and came good at Towcester at the fifth time of asking over fences. CAPARD KING is preferred, however, as he'll appreciate the better ground and looked a nice prospect when winning here in November. He was out of his depth in the Kim Muir at The Festival.
Capard King (IRE) 50-1 (11-5) Towards rear from 10th, well behind when pulled up before 2 out, at Cheltenham 3m 2f hcp (2) gd in Mar.
Spirit Of Shankly 11-10 (10-12) Made most, headed briefly 5th, clear after 3 out, stayed on strongly, eased run-in, won at Towcester 3m (4) sft in Mar beating Royalraise (10-12) by 25l, 3 ran.
Warrantor (IRE) 66-1 (11-6) Mid-division, headway 15th, blundered 4 out, saddle slipped and rider lost irons, soon behind, pulled up before 3 out, at Cheltenham 4m lst (1) gs in Mar.
Charming Grace (IRE) 150-1 (10-11) Held up towards rear, soon in rear, tailed off and pulled up before 4 out, at Wetherby 2m (4) hvy in Jan.
