It took 21 attempts for Van Dijk to open his account and he’s penalised for last week’s course and distance success while Socru’s strike rate is no better having won once in 23 starts so far. The British Lion finished runner-up in a lowly classified contest here last time but will find this tougher and a speculative vote goes to the less-exposed HEART OF A HUNTER. He’ll need to improve on a fifth here on New Year’s Day but finished in front of True Companion, Crazy Spin and Best Tamayuz on that occasion. Habanero Star looks best of the rest.
