        Verdict

        Alfonso showed definite signs of improvement last time and can land this weak handicap, Blue Patrick and Councellor look to be the main rivals. Ian Semple's five-year-old made his all-weather debut at Wolverhampton last month in a pretty strong race and did well to finish fourth behind Brave Maestro. The experience will not be lost on him and he looks the best option this afternoon. Blue Patrick has been in great heart this winter and landed his second victory when beating Just Fly at Wolverhampton last month. The handicapper may just have his measure now but he should still be vying for some place money. Councellor is another that rarely runs a bad race and wasn't beaten far behind Graze On here last time. This extra distance will not be a problem and he should be in the shake up. The pick of the others could be Te Quiero, but our idea of the winner is Alfonso.
