Majik won well here over six furlongs on Tuesday and has to be respected under a 7lb penalty but he has yet to prove his effectiveness over today¿s trip and we prefer to side with Mon Secret, who gets the vote over Ashtree Belle and Far Note. The last mentioned only just got home over six furlongs last time and is another who may not last the extra furlong, while Ashtree Belle has claims on his Wolverhampton form but has yet to show that here. Scramble drops down in trip having run with credit in his last two starts over a mile but has been short of pace over this distance in the past and there is no reason to suggest that he will appreciate it now. There are no such problems for Mon Secret though. Brian Smart¿s gelding has had three runs back since a summer break and found just the heavily backed Semper Paratus too good at Wolverhampton over this trip last time. A 3lb rise since then seems perfectly fair and Mon Secret is taken to go one better.
