Verdict

STAR OF ROHM shouldn't be lining up in a maiden after a Jamie Spencer managed to get him boxed in when taking on just three rivals at Lingfield. This will be his first run on the surface and though no certainty is the obvious choice. Antonio Gramsci, beaten a head at Ripon in June, started a short-priced favourite on his return here earlier this month but could only finish third in a five-horse race. Moe's Place had a run in October and put the experience to good use by producing a fair run behind Repetition over the track and trip last month. Red Gift, well beaten at Kempton last time, had run well over a mile here on his previous start.
