In depth

Verdict

John Forbes has run three times here in a 77-race career but has never looked like winning. Stablemate Overrule is a regular on the Flat here, however, and won a poor seller last month. He should be in the shake-up while the chaser Saveiro will be better for a recent run, his first for a year, and his stable does well in these events. TORNADO BOB was in cracking form over hurdles a year ago and, though proving very expensive to follow in all three starts over fences this season, he can get a confidence-booster against this inferior opposition. Russian Flag is a fair chaser at his best but hardly likely to have the pace for this.
