In depth

Verdict

Caerphilly Gal is the obvious choice in this weak finale, Mehmaas, Desertina and Super Canyon appear to be the only dangers. Caerphilly Gal was successful in a similar contest at Brighton last month and wasn't disgraced last time when second to Wodhill Be. She was leading inside the final furlong in that contest so the drop in trip could be ideal. Mehmaas is not the force of old but didn't do badly last time in a better race at Ripon. He is well in on official ratings and should be in the shake up. Super Canyon is capable of going close on the best of his form as is Desertina who ran a solid race here last time behind Anisatti. The others make very little appeal and so it doesn't look too hard task for Caerphilly Gal who gets a confident vote.
