    Verdict

Mind Alert gets the vote over Favouring, Nevenstown and Penel. If ever a horse deserves a change of luck it is Mind Alert who just cannot get his head in front it would seem. Last successful at Lingfield nearly a year ago, he has been placed on each of his last six outings over six furlongs, and although he might now be worth a try over further, is given another chance off what is still a fair mark. Favouring in contrast has been confined to seven furlongs since November and now drops back in trip which may help his cause, while Nevinstown stayed on well here last time and if ridden a bit nearer to the pace this time, is another that can figure. Penel flopped when sent off as favourite last month but had gair form earlier in the context of this race, so is worth a small mention as well, but Mind Alert can make consistency pay.
