dwelt and towards rear, soon chased along, driven and headway over 1f out, stayed on final furlong
made all, ridden clear over 1f out, driven out final furlong
in touch, effort when outpaced over 2f out, driven and stayed on final furlong
towards rear, never dangerous
mid-division, effort halfway, no impression
mid-division, headway on inner over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
chased leaders, ridden along halfway, no extra final furlong
never better than mid-division
started slowly and behind, never dangerous
towards rear, headway over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
chased leaders, ridden along halfway, driven and one pace final furlong
CROCODILE BAY could be the answer to this contest but Elusive Warrior has to be on every short-list with Vanatina and Kannon amongst others that could feature. The selection sports blinkers for the first time this afternoon and they won't need to bring about a great deal of improvement in order for him to taste success. He has yet to score on the all-weather but has gone close in the past and has leading claims if returning to top form. Elusive Warrior proved too strong for him when the pair clashed over course and distance in October and Alan McCabe's course specialist is the one to beat here. Vanatina shaped as though worth another try at this trip when staying on at the one pace last time but a share of the place prize money is probably the best that she can hope to achieve. Kannon may hold loftier ambitions following a more encouraging run for her new connections and she should go well if acting on the fibresand but we'll come back to Crocodile Bay for our idea of the winner.
