STEADY MAJOR drops back in distance after a couple of seconds in handicaps at Lingfield. He should be winning at this level off a mark of 79 with only International Name looking a threat. The Godolphin gelding was beaten a length in maiden race at Wolverhampton when last seen at the track in September. It's hard to make any sort of case for the remainder given Dark Diamond was still beaten 10 lengths when third over track and trip in November and both Serenity Now and Happy Deal finished down the field in the same race here last month.
Dark Diamond (IRE) 25-1 (9-7) Raced wide, close up, pushed along over 3f out, soon outpaced, ridden and headway approaching final furlong, stayed on to go 3rd close home, 3rd of 8, 10l behind Wu Zetian (9-0) at Southwell 1m mdn stks (5) fbs in Nov.
Serenity Now (IRE) 66-1 (9-13) Missed break, always behind and outpaced, 8th of 12, 14l behind Ian's Memory (9-13) at Southwell 1m mdn stks (5) fbs in Jan.

Steady Major (IRE) 7-4fav (9-2) Tracked leaders in 4th and last, outpaced 2f out, soon ridden, stayed on to challenge and every chance inside final furlong, just held, 2nd of 4, 1/2l behind Prince Of Paris (9-7) at Lingfield 1m 2f 3yo hcp (4) pol in Jan.
