      Verdict

      COZY TIGER, Dart and All Guns Firing make up our shortlist with marginal preference for the first mentioned. Willie Musson's charge is bred to be effective on this surface and showed that to be true when impressively landing a maiden last time. The form of that race can only be rated as moderate, but as connections seem to have found the key to their horse it looks worth sticking with him back in handicap company off what looks a reasonable rating. Dart has been generously dropped a pound since last running and loves it here, so with the yard continuing to pick up prize money she's respected. This trip looks on the sharp side for her though and for that reason she's opposed narrowly along with All Guns Firing. The latter responded gamely for pressure to pick up a weak race here last time but a 5lb rise seems enough to stop the winning for now, despite the fact his prominent style of racing is suited to this track. Veloso has excellent claims if he's at his best off this mark of 65, but the last time we saw the grey was in 2008 and so fitness has to be taken on trust. The market will give greater indication as to his claims as it will with Tifoso who is yet to race on the level in this country, whilst Orkney is respected on the grounds that his yard have started 2010 on the front foot. This is an interesting race but it may rest between the recent winners, of whom Cosy Tiger is taken to maintain her 100% course and distance record.

      Dart 9-4fav (10-2) Chased leaders, ridden and outpaced 3f out, challenged 2f out, stayed on under pressure to chase winner inside final furlong no impression, 2nd of 11, 2 1/4l behind Russian Music (9-4) at Southwell 1m 6f hcp 0-60 (6) fbs in Jan.

      Orkney (IRE) 12-1 (8-13) With leader, led after 4f, headed 3f out, soon ridden, weakened final furlong, last of 7, 10l behind Trip The Light (9-10) at Haydock 1m 4f app hcp (5) gd in Aug.

      All Guns Firing (IRE) 7-1 (9-4) Made all, ridden over 2f out, stayed on under pressure, won at Southwell 1m 3f hcp 0-60 (6) fbs in Feb beating Highland River (8-13) by 1 1/4l, 10 ran.

      Tifoso (FR) (9-2) 7th of 12, 14l behind No Green Just Blue (9-2) at Angers(FR) 1m 2f stk sft in Feb '08.
