        Verdict

        In a very poor contest Lady Hopeful is given the nod, ahead of stable companion Rock Fever and Bryan Smart's Ben Casey. Peter Grayson's filly has done most of her recent racing at the all-weather tracks and put in a very solid performance last time when just three lengths behind Diamond Josh. The drop back to five should suit and she looks the best option. Rock Fever is not the most consistent of performers but has claims on the pick of her recent efforts on this track. Ben Casey is the pick on official ratings but flatters to deceive and may find one or two too good again. Rapid River ran well in a decent claimer at Sandown last time and looks the pick of the others. However Lady Hopeful has solid course form and gets the decision.
