The Rod Millman-trained Five Gold looks almost too obvious a selection here but in the absence of any real strength-in-depth in the opposition, the son of Desert Prince is confidently expected to prove to be too progressive for the lightly raced Athboy, Hold The Line and Platinum Pirate. The Shaun Kieghtley-trained Cerezo put in his best effort to date last time and could be the one for each way punters to get a good run for their money, but he needs to improve out of all recognition according to the official figures for the race to master the likes of Five Gold. The selection is unlikely to represent much in the way of value today but the way he performed on his all weather debut here last month left the impression that there are races to be won with him somewhere along the line. His subsequent effort in a much better race than this at Goodwood last time reads almost too well in the context of this race and he will not get a much better opportunity of opening his account.
